Pfalzgraf Hermann

Arras was, in its original shape, probably built around 938 in defense against the Hungarians. The site is believed to have been used as early as 890 against the Normans. The name seems to have been attached in 1120.

After the Arras family line was lost in the 14th century the castle was inherited by a different Royal dynasty, in part as a fief.

In 1518 the castle was destroyed and again in 1689. In 1897 the site was acquired by Traugoff Wilhelm Dyckerhoff and rebuilt from 1907-1910.
