The tower at Burgk is one of the most enchanting I have seen in my travels. Reflected in the small pond outside the wall provides double the pleasure.

The bright white walls, unusual for castles today, actually more accurately representshow the castle may have looked when original. Most castles were whitewashed.t

The castle is undergoing extensive restoration as is evidenced by the windows still covered in plastic sheeting.

Note the traditional double entrance. One, the larger, is for mounted residents and visitors. The smaller for those entering on foot. The arrow loop on the left seems larger than any I have seen elsewhere and would allow even inexperienced attacking archers to place their arrows accurately towards any guard within.
