However, there is general misunderstanding about exactly what constitutes a castle and, consequently, when I can and cannot be of assistance. If the building you are seeking information about falls within the simple guides below, I will attempt to assist you. You must be specific about what you are seeking and provide me with details! I cannot search in the dark. In other words, give me everything you know about the castle.
The first rule is that if it does not have a history dating to before 1550 it is not a
castle. Most families, if their relationship proves true at all, prove to be connected in some way not to a castle, but to a mansion or palace dating to the 17th century or later. I have absolutely no data on anything dated after about 1550.
